6/24/2023 0 Comments Books like dean koontz intensity![]() ![]() ![]() What I DO like about Koontz is that his stories are scary and suspenseful but very often uplifting and have a message of hope. Enough already! Also, "darkle", "sodium-vapor", "sluice", and "bougainvillea"! He sure loves those words! For a while there it seemed like every single one of his characters drove a Ford Explorer. His "formula" is wearing thin and his over-descriptive passages about the types of guns the characters have, or the architecture of the church they are hiding in, or the overly technical descriptions of parts of a plane or whatever. yet I keep reading them because I have a shelf full. On the other hand, I am kind of annoyed by a lot of his little habits and finding a lot of his books to really not be that great. I really loved Intensity, the Odd Thomas books (haven't finished them though) and Fear Nothing/Seize the Night (with the guy that can't be out in daylight). ![]() Many of them were, IMO, very very good and that's what kept me willing to read more and willing to pick up more at yard sales, Goodwill, etc. ![]() I have read so many Koontz books I have lost track. That's how I am feeling about Dean Koontz lately. Ever have a bag of potato chips lying around that you don't particularly love, they aren't THAT special, but you eat them anyway and can't seem to stop? ![]()
