The documentary has been produced with the support and help of Dilla's family and will also look into the unfortunate circumstances around his estate following his passing in 2006. The documentary is described as an "intimate portrait" of Dilla's work and influence on hip-hop as one of its most esteemed beatmakers. The Legacy Of J Dilla will debut this Friday, 7th April, and is part of an FX series called 'The New York Times Presents'. A new documentary focusing on the life and career of the late J Dilla is set to be debuted by streaming platform Hulu and TV network FX.
